Is Cancun good for scuba diving ?
We firmly believe that the true beauty of Cancun lies beneath the waves. While it may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about Cancun, all our dive sites are located within a designated marine protected area. We’re fortunate to boast a rich diversity of marine life, including two captivating shipwrecks and a vibrant, colorful reef. So Cancun is definitely (more than) good for scuba diving! We love to say that the best of Cancun is underwater 🙂
Can you dive in Cancun without certification ?
Yes, absolutely! First, before signing up, you’ll have to fill out a medical questionnaire to make sure that you can do scuba diving. With our Discover Scuba Diving program, you can enjoy 2 thrilling dives. You’ll receive training in a swimming pool from one of our certified PADI instructors before heading out to explore the stunning underwater museum and reef.

How much does is it to go scuba diving in Cancun ?
The cost of your dive experience will vary depending on whether you’re a certified diver or not. For certified divers, our dives in Cancun are priced at $130 USD, which includes 2 tanks, full scuba gear and wet suit, a certified guide, marine park fees, and a complimentary bottle of water on board. For non certified, the price is $150 USD, covering 2 tanks, full scuba gear and wet suit, pool training, instructor, marine park fees, and a bottle of water on board. We are including all fees in our prices.

When is the best time to dive in Cancun ?
Well, the good news is that you can dive in Cancun all year round. Additionally, the water temperature and the large visibility allow us to dive from January to December with some highlights. For instance, schools of eagle rays visit Cancun’s clear water every year from December to March. If you are lucky, you can see from 10 to 50 in one dive!
Furthermore, we are going to Playa del Carmen to dive with the bull sharks from November to March, and we are snorkeling with whale sharks from May to September.

In general, the average recreational dive in Cancun ranges from 30 feet to 82 feet (10meters to 25 meters)
Musa & reef: 30 feet – 10 meters max
Punta Cancun reef: 55 feet – 16 meters max – about 10 differents dive locations
C-55 & C-58 shipwrecks: 82 feet – 25 meters max each wreck.
Do you need a wet suit to dive in Cancun ?
The water temperatures in Cancun range from 28-30°C (82-86°F) between May and October, and from 26-28°C (78-82°F) from November to April. While a wetsuit may be advisable for deeper dives during the coldest months, we provide a 3mm shorty wetsuit for your comfort. In the warmest months, many of our customers opt for diving in a swimsuit or with a rash guard.

Essential items for your dive adventure in Cancun include a swimsuit, a towel (showers available on-site), some cash for tipping the boat crew, and a rash guard if you want to protect you from the sun. We are providing water on board.
