Get Ready to Start Your Professional Diving Career Becoming an SDI Scuba Diving Instructor
Diving Instructor Course (SDI – IDC Course)
The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor (OWSDI) Course is designed for certified Divemasters and Assistant Instructors who are ready to take the next step in their professional diving career.
This comprehensive training program prepares candidates to become confident, knowledgeable, and effective scuba instructors capable of teaching and certifying divers anywhere in the world. Through a combination of classroom sessions, confined water workshops, open water training, and real-world teaching scenarios, you will develop the leadership, communication, and instructional skills required to safely train new divers.
The program is divided into two components:
✔ Instructor Development Course (IDC)
✔ Instructor Evaluation Course (IEC)
During the IDC, candidates learn SDI teaching methodologies, standards, risk management procedures, and professional-level dive education techniques. The IEC is the final evaluation process where candidates demonstrate their ability to meet SDI instructor standards.
Training takes place in the warm, crystal-clear waters of Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean, providing an ideal environment to develop practical teaching experience while gaining exposure to one of the world’s most popular diving destinations.

Dove with a few different shops over the years and this 1 although small was really accommodating and even shared pictures and videos of our dives. The days went excellent no issues with gear or anything. It was everything you hope for from a dive shop and more.Posted on Google Matthew BloomTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a great time with Victoria and Daniel. They were so kind, generous and were fabulous dive guides. We did MUSA, reefs and a great wreck. We ran into a little sea sickness with one of our group and Daniel was incredibly helpful and comforting. We will definitive with Seatizen when we return to Cancún.Posted on Google Keira GovindenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. An amazing experience with Daniel! I am a relatively new diver and he made the experience so memorable and gave a great refresher course to go over the skills covered on the open water dive. He also helped me to equalise my ears which I usually have issues with but was able to successfully do two dives with no issues. I was able to see an amazing array of sea life including turtles, stingrays, moray eel, pufferfish etc… This has been my best dive to date and I am vey grateful to Daniel for this wonderful experience! I would highly recommend Daniel and the company to any divers and especially new divers as myself as they explained things very well and were all very kind and helpful.Posted on Google Lisa ThompsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great time diving with Daniel at Seatizen Divers! Would recommend for anyone looking to dive in Cancún!Posted on Google Adrian MoralesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing experience with Seatizen Divers in Cancún. From the first WhatsApp contact, Victoria was organized and detailed, making sure everything was smooth. I was running late and informed them, and they were incredibly understanding, helping me stay calm and get there as soon as I could. I dove at the C-58 shipwreck and Punta Cancún reef. In March, we saw plenty of eagle rays, which made it spectacular. Daniel was calm, kind, and knowledgeable, making the dive even better. He took fantastic photos that I purchased, memories I’ll treasure forever. I can’t recommend Seatizen Divers enough. Posted on Google Tony ChanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I love scuba diving. We happened to be in Cancun for a one week family event but decided to skip out during a few mornings to dive Cancun. I did my research on all the highly rated scuba diving shops by visiting their websites and then sending them direct e-mails. I was impressed by the responsiveness from Seatizen Divers and I quickly made our decision to go with them. I ended up corresponding with Victoria. Cancun was experiencing high winds when we arrived which forced the closure of the harbour (ie. no diving) for several of the days that we had planned to dive. Victoria was able to make alternate plans that suited our schedule. The diving experience was very good. Victoria ended up being our divemaster for the 3 days that we dove. We were well looked after. Briefings were short but to the point. The equipment was in good shape. I had forgotten a piece of camera equipment at home and when I e-mailed Victoria the day before we were to dive, she was able to find the forgotten piece and lent it to me for the duration of our time diving. In the water, she was very observant to point out many different highlights which I appreciated as a amateur underwater photographer. The WWII wreck (C-58) gave us a magical experience watching and recording over 10 eagle rays swimming around us on the wreck! It was so good that we had to do the same dive twice. The shallower reef dives were a bit challenging as strong currents made it very difficult to anchor yourself to take any photos as you were constantly buffeted around. This is something that no dive shop can control. My wife has some challenges exiting the water with her gear but Victoria was gracious to help her remove her gear in the water prior to climbing the ladder into the boat. A nice touch and greatly appreciated by my wife! Without hesitation, if you are interested in diving in Cancun, Seatizen Divers can meet your needs. You will receive genuine professional service, smaller dive groups, uncrowded dive sites and you will leave believing that you have a great friend that you will want to revisit.
